Trouble Murder Suspect Surrenders

The man accused of killing Trouble has turned himself in.

Jamichael Jones, 33, was wanted in the fatal shooting of the Atlanta rapper during a home invasion on Sunday morning. He was arrested at 1 a.m. Tuesday in Clayton County and taken into custody in connection with Trouble’s death after his mother encouraged him to surrender to authorities, according to 11Alive.

Investigators located Jones after going to locations where he was seen frequently, eventually leading them to his mother’s house. She allowed deputies to speak to Jones on the phone and they convinced him to turn himself in.

“His mother was a huge resource in helping us apprehend him,” Rockdale County Sheriff Eric Levett told reporters during a press conference.

Jones, who was seen in handcuffs after the early morning arrest, has been charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, home invasion, and battery. The sheriff’s office said he could possibly face more charges.

Trouble, whose real name was Mariel Semonte Orr, was shot and killed during a home invasion early Sunday (June 5) at Lake St. James Apartments in Conyers, about 25 miles east of Atlanta.

Jones was reportedly involved in a “domestic situation” with the woman Trouble was visiting, and he and Trouble did not know each other. Jones apparently breached the woman’s residence and opened fire, hitting Trouble in the chest once. Trouble was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries, the sheriff’s office said.

In the wake of the tragedy, the hip-hop community took to social media to share their condolences including Drake, T.I., Juicy J, Gucci Mane, Bow Wow, Monica, and Mike Will Made-It.
