Tomorrow X Together unveiled their dreamy take on Ariana Grande‘s “Thank U, Next” on Thursday (April 23).
For their cover, which was released exclusively on the boy band’s Soundcloud, the K-pop act strips Grande’s No. 1 smash hit down to just keys and a swoon-worthy dose of breathy harmonies.
“I’ve loved and I’ve lost/ But that’s not what I see/ So look what I’ve got/ Look what you taught me/ And for that I say/ Thank you, next/ Thank you, next/ Thank you, next/ I’m so, I’m so grateful for my ex,” the idols croon over Ari’s echoing ad-libs.
Of course, this isn’t the first time the guys of TXT have shared their love for Grande’s music — back in November, the boy band shouted out, “Boyfriend,” the superstar’s Grammy-nominated collab with Social House, on their Takeover Tuesday playlist for Billboard.
While the quintet’s debut album The Dream Chapter: Magic peaked at No. 3 on the World Albums chart upon its release back in Oct. 2019, they’ve since made a splash in the Japanese market with their new three-song release Magic Hour. Featuring Japanese-language singles “Run Away,” “Crown” and “Angel or Devil,” the band’s latest project launched at No. 2 on Japan’s Oricon Albums Chart in January.
