All Deacon Phillippe wanted to do was celebrate the release of his debut single, “Long Run.” The super-catchy dance tune featuring vocals from Nina Nesbitt is a jam for sure. How do we know? Because his mom, Reese Witherspoon, just cannot stop moving whenever she hears it. MOM!
Like any good mother, Witherspoon is super proud of her kid — with ex Ryan Phillippe — so when he played it for her last week she got so excited she had the very best idea: “I should make up a TikTok dance to this song!” she said excitedly in an Instagram video as she busted out a mom dance that adorably mortified Deacon.
In keeping with the irrepressible family charm, though, Phillippe’s response on his mom’s mortifying post was: “Hahahaha I love you.”
He shouldn’t be that concerned, because so far plenty of A-listers think he’s got it down. Nesbitt commented, “omg I need to see this dance,” while Eva Longoria gave it three crying laughing emoji, Octavia Spencer said it was a “great song and DANCE,” Isla Fisher laughed uncontrollably, Gwyneth Paltrow admitted, “We mortify them, but it’s from pure love! Way to go Deacon!” and Olivia Munn gave it two hearts.
Deacon also got thumbs up from Selma Blair, Scooter Braun and Mindy Kaling.
