One Directioners have a big anniversary celebration next week: The British boy band consisting of Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan in the beginning first stepped out into the spotlight on July 23, 2010. But who’s your favorite out of the five?
Zayn started off his solo career first in 2015, and no one slept on his debut single “Pillowtalk” after it climbed the Billboard Hot 100 chart all the way to No. 1. Breaking out of the tween romance scene, the five delved into more sexy territory with their music, as Zayn teamed up with Taylor Swift for the Fifty Shades Darker track “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” and Payne worked with Rita Ora on the Fifty Shades Freed song “For You.”
Styles remains the only 1D breakout star to notch not just one, but two No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200, with his eponymous debut album in 2017 and his sophomore project Fine Line last year. Horan continues cooking up a storm of flirtatious earworms and navigating through Heartbreak Weather, while Tomlinson finally broke out of the band’s postmortem period to release his debut solo effort Walls this year that breaks down a different type of heartache.
