Will Reba McEntire Continue to Host ACMS After Guest Hosting CMAS? ‘No Deal in Place,’ Says Source: Exclusive

Following today’s news that Carrie Underwood will return to host the 53rd annual CMA Awards on Nov. 13 with special guest hosts Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton, a source tells Billboard that “no deal is in place for McEntire] to come back” to host the competing Academy of Country Music Awards, but adds “nothing is] determined yet.”

McEntire has hosted the ACMs, which take place in April in Las Vegas, 16 times starting in 1986. She hosted solo continuously from 2006 through 2010 before co-hosting with Blake Shelton in 2011 and 2012. She hosted solo in 2018 and 2019.

“We haven’t confirmed our host yet for 2020,” a representative for the ACM Awards said, but did not comment on McEntire specifically.

Requests for comment from McEntire’s publicist and manager were not immediately returned.

As the Oscars did in February and the Emmys will next month, the ACM Awards have gone without a host before in 2005. The November CMA Awards will mark Underwood’s 12th time as host. She has hosted previously with Brad Paisley.
