XXXTENTACION has sparked more controversy after a video him hitting a girl emerged online this week.
The video was shared on just a few days after X was let f house arrest, which stems from his ongoing domestic violence case. The polarizing artist doesn’t have his distinctive chest and forehead tattoos in the footage, indicating the clip isn’t recent.
TMZ reports that prosecutors working his case are reviewing the footage.
X’s attorney told TMZ the old video shows two friends and “was taken completely in jest.” She says that X is a different person now and that the clip was meant to damage his image.
X is currently facing charges aggravated battery a pregnant woman, domestic battery by strangulation and false imprisonment for allegedly beating his then-pregnant ex-girlfriend in October 2016. Last December, prosecutors added 15 charges witness tampering and witness harassment for allegedly intimidating his ex to refuse to testify at trial. He has denied the charges.
Despite all X’s legal woes, his fans have supported his music in full force. His newly released ? LP reached the top spot on the Billboard 200, giving him the first #1 album his career.
