After releasing his electronic-infused guaracha single “Qué Chimba” a few weeks ago, Maluma dropped the song’s music video today (April 1).
“Qué Chimba,” which loosely translates into “how awesome/cool,” was directed and produced by the Colombian singer-songwriter alongside his creative director and photographer Cesar Pimienta/TesOne.
Recorded on a cell phone, the clip was shot on the streets of Prague and Munich while on his 11:11 World Tour, which was later postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
According to a press release, the idea was to “bring the music of his native Medellín, Colombia to the European streets.”
Now that his world tour has been postponed, Maluma is self-isolating in Medellín, where his foundation, El Arte de los Sueños, is helping families in need amid the global health crisis.
Additionally, Maluma and his foundation have begun the initiative “Qué Chimba Quedarse en Casa (How Awesome to Stay Home)” to encourage Colombians to stay indoors and help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
