Kanye West is coming home again.
The Yeezy visionary is rebuilding his childhood home at Chicago’s Soldier Field, where he will host his next DONDA listening event on Thursday night (Aug. 26).
Photos that leaked online show a replica of the home being built in the middle of the stadium. Over the weekend, Kanye cleared out his Instagram account and shared a photo of the modest house where he once lived with his late mother, who the album is named after.

After she and her husband divorced in 1980, Donda West and a then-3-year-old Kanye moved from Atlanta to Chicago where they lived in the home for about eight years. The former English professor sold the 1,600-square-foot house for $121,000 in 2003. The home changed hands several times throughout the years before Kanye bought it last year for $225,000.
West revisited the home with JAY-Z in 2011 as part of a promotion for Watch the Throne. In 2018, it was featured on an episode of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”
Kanye will host his third ticketed listening party for DONDA at Soldier Field on Thursday at 9 p.m. CST. Like the previous ones at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium, it is expected to stream live on Apple Music. According to his manager Bu Thiam, the oft-delayed album will “100%” be released following the event.
