Original Story: As Jordan Brand continues to expand its global presence, its themes have become increasingly diverse. Classic collections such as the Nike subsidiary’s annual Chinese New Year-themed capsule have been joined by newer themes such as 2022’s celebration of international retailers like Manilla-based TITAN on the Air Jordan 2 Low. Looking ahead to 2023, Jordan Brand looks to be tapping into Nigerian design with its upcoming Air Jordan 1 High OG “Vibrations of Naija.”

Arriving in a timeless color composition of white, off-white and black, this pair offers a versatile look with a thematic twist. Its upper favors a white leather presentation that puts a spotlight on the sneaker’s unique textile Swooshes and collar. These details likely lean into the colorway’s Nigerian inspiration, though specifics regarding its roots have not yet been shared. A yellow-heavy off-white appears at the collar’s Wings logo, the laces, lining and rubber outsole to complete the overview of this first look.

Currently, the Air Jordan 1 High OG “Vibrations of Naija” is scheduled to release May 27 via Nike and select retailers at a price of $180 USD. Stay tuned for official images and information from Nike in the coming months.
