Mountain Dew Baja Blast and UPROXX officially kicked off the summer season in Chicago this past weekend, transforming Moonlight Studios into an immersive beach getaway. While the Windy City might not be the first place that comes to mind for a coastal retreat, the event successfully brought the spirit of the shore to the heart of the Midwest.
On June 26th, the Baja Blast Summer Series launched its first stop, a two-city free concert event dedicated to celebrating the vibrant culture and music of some of the fastest-rising Latin artists in the industry. The Chicago crowd arrived in force, with lines stretching around the block before doors even opened. Attendees were treated to an exclusive apparel drop from the cult-favorite streetwear label Half Evil, setting the tone for a high-energy evening.
Inside the venue, the atmosphere was curated to match the tropical theme. A specialized cocktail menu featured a variety of tequila, vodka, and rum-based drinks, each infused with the signature flavor of Baja Blast. To keep the energy high, a local tamale vendor provided authentic refreshments, ensuring the crowd stayed fueled throughout the night.
The musical lineup was equally impressive, with DJs Mamicana, M-Dok, and Mo Mami building anticipation before Latin trap superstar Dei V took the stage. His performance was nothing short of electrifying, captivating the audience from the very first track.

The Baja Blast Summer Series is just getting started. The tour is set to continue in late August, when Latin trap princess De La Rose takes over Los Angeles for the next installment of the series. For those who missed the Chicago festivities, the event served as a powerful reminder of the intersection between music, culture, and community.
