Atlanta rap titan Lil Baby is officially in album mode, and he is kicking off his next chapter with the release of his new Pharrell-produced single, “Dead Fresh.” The track marks a significant moment for the artist as he prepares for his fifth solo studio album.
The announcement arrived on Thursday (July 16), when Baby took to his TikTok page to share a behind-the-scenes look at his creative process. “Album time,” he stated while panning across a room filled with his team and label representatives. “This muthaf**ka getting steady.”
Shortly after the announcement, the lead single “Dead Fresh” was released to the public. The song had previously been teased by Pharrell during the Louis Vuitton Menswear Spring-Summer 2027 show in Paris earlier this June. That showcase also featured other high-profile collaborations from Pharrell, including “Haavin” with Quavo and “Simulation” with YoungBoy Never Broke Again.
According to updates shared on his Instagram Story, fans can expect a golf-inspired music video for “Dead Fresh,” directed by Kid Art, to premiere on Monday (July 20).
This upcoming project follows the success of his January 2025 release, WHAM. That album featured a star-studded lineup including Young Thug, Future, GloRilla, Rylo Rodriguez, Rod Wave, Travis Scott, and 21 Savage. WHAM debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 140,000 equivalent units, marking a milestone as Baby secured his fourth consecutive No. 1 debut on the chart.
As anticipation builds for the as-of-yet unnamed LP, listeners can stream “Dead Fresh” now to get a taste of what is to come.
