Quality Control Cofounder Pierre ‘P’ Thomas Hospitalized After Heart Attack

Quality Control Music cofounder Pierre 'P' Thomas is currently receiving medical care following a heart attack. His team has confirmed he is stable and has requested privacy for his family.

Pierre “P” Thomas, the influential cofounder of Quality Control Music, is currently hospitalized after reportedly suffering a heart attack at the age of 45. The music executive was rushed to the ICU at a Las Vegas hospital on Friday, August 21, following the sudden medical emergency.

In an official statement provided to the press, a representative for the label confirmed the news while emphasizing that Thomas is currently receiving necessary medical attention. “We want to clarify that Pierre ‘P’ Thomas is alive and currently hospitalized receiving medical care,” the statement read. “We ask that everyone keep P and his family in their thoughts and prayers and respectfully give them the privacy and space they need during this time. We deeply appreciate everyone’s concern, support, prayers, and loving energy right now.”

Since cofounding the Atlanta-based powerhouse label alongside Kevin “Coach K” Lee in 2013, Thomas has been a central figure in modern hip-hop. His leadership has been instrumental in the meteoric rise of industry titans such as Migos, Lil Yachty, Lil Baby, and City Girls. Under his guidance, the label has evolved into a multifaceted entertainment entity, managing everything from A&R and branding to sports management and film production.

The label’s influence was further solidified in 2023 when it entered into a landmark $320 million partnership with Hybe America, facilitated by industry veteran Scooter Braun. Despite the massive scale of the deal, Thomas and Lee have maintained operational control, continuing to push the boundaries of the music business.

Reflecting on the legacy he hopes to build, Thomas shared his vision in a 2023 interview, stating, “That we was a Black company that came in this business with a lot of doors closed on us. And we overcame a lot of adversity and developed some of the biggest superstars of our time.”

As the industry rallies behind him, the focus remains on his recovery and the well-being of his family.
