In an exciting collaboration with Honda Stage, country soul artist Kashus Culpepper recently brought his signature smoky, textured vocals to UPROXX’s FYI Studios. The performance featured a powerful rendition of “Til The Sun Goes Down,” a standout uptempo track from his latest EP, Act I: Summer Nights.
The performance was elevated by an innovative XR stage setup, which generated live, in-camera visuals that reacted in real-time to Culpepper’s movements and vocal dynamics. The production design was meticulously crafted to mirror the warmth of a sunset, creating a cinematic environment that perfectly complemented the song’s atmosphere. As the track reached its chorus, the arrangement expanded into a choir-like stack, inviting listeners to engage with the music’s infectious energy.
As the intensity of the performance grew, the visual landscape shifted through a spectrum of deep reds, oranges, and yellows. This psychedelic aesthetic marks a bold departure for Culpepper, whose previous work has largely leaned into a naturalistic blend of church soul, blues, and southern rock. Reflecting on the experience, Culpepper noted, “To see it on the screen… exactly how I saw it in my head, it’s really dope man.”
