Chance The Rapper Wins Lawsuit Against Former Manager

Chance The Rapper has secured a significant legal victory in his long-standing dispute with former manager Pat Corcoran.

In a landmark legal victory, Chance The Rapper has successfully concluded a six-year legal battle against his former manager, Pat Corcoran. The ruling, handed down by the Cook County Circuit Court, marks a definitive end to a complex dispute centered on allegations of breach of fiduciary duty.

According to the court’s judgment, Pat Corcoran is required to forfeit up to $1.5 million in merchandise and merchandise-related compensation. The final amount, which will also include undisclosed vendor commissions, is set to be determined by the court. This financial penalty follows a rigorous examination of the case, which included testimony from independent witnesses, extensive documentary evidence, and statements provided by the artist himself.

Judge James E. Hanlon Jr. presided over the proceedings and was notably critical of Corcoran’s conduct during the trial. In his assessment, the judge highlighted a concerning pattern of inconsistent testimony, noting that Corcoran appeared to adapt his story based on his audience, ultimately describing him as having “a habit of saying whatever the moment requires.” This judicial critique has dealt a significant blow to Corcoran’s professional credibility within the music industry.

Following the conclusion of the trial, the artist issued a formal statement expressing his relief and gratitude. “I’m grateful to finally close this chapter of my life and can’t wait to eventually tell my side of the story. I’m thankful to the courts and, more importantly, to God for remaining faithful,” he stated.
