Alicia Keys is the latest artist to postpone a major tour due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The singer revealed on Thursday (May 21) that she has been forced to reschedule the dates on her ALICIA World Tour 2020 after waiting to see if there was any way to avoid disappointing her fans.
“We’ve all been waiting patiently to see how the world is going,” she tweeted. “We held onto the dates as long as we could BUT safety and the good health of my beautiful fam is paramount.”
The tour was slated to kick off on June 5 in Dublin, Ireland, and keep the singer on the road through a Sept. 22 show at the Hard Rock Live Arena in Hollywood, Fla. “Oooh, you can’t believe how bummed out I am that we have to postpone the ALICIA world tour,” a Keys avatar says in the tweet. “Just trust me and know that I can’t wait to be with you. I miss you so much.”
On March 19, Keys told fans that she needed to postpone the book tour for her More Myself: A Journey memoir, even as she moved forward with plans to release her seventh studio album, Alicia.
