Celine Dion Performs an Emotional ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ in Tribute to Her Late Mother: Watch

The show went on for Celine Dion following the death of her mother, Therese Dion, who passed away Friday morning (Jan. 17) at age 92.

The singer performed at the American Airlines Arena in Miami over the weekend, dedicating the concert to her late mother. On Friday night, she ended her set with a stirring rendition of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" in honor of "Maman Dion," whose photo served as the stage's backdrop.

Despite her loss, Dion reassured fans that the show would take place as scheduled in an Instagram post on Friday afternoon.

"Maman, we love you so much… We dedicate tonight’s show to you and I’ll sing to you with all my heart," she wrote in the caption of an old family photo.

"Je t’aime maman," she said in another post the following day, which featured a clip of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" live.
