Chris Janson scores his second No. 1 on Billboard‘s Country Airplay chart, as “Done” ascends 3-1 on the survey dated Aug. 8.
The song increased by 9% to 31.7 million audience impressions in the week ending Aug. 2, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.
Janson wrote “Done” — which was inspired by his wife, Kelly Lynn — with Mitch Oglesby, Jamie Paulin and Matt Roy.
“I’m extremely grateful for this No. 1 song,” Janson tells Billboard. “What a huge blessing it’s been. All my friends at country radio have always had my back, and that is something for which I am very thankful. ‘Done’ is my favorite song I’ve ever written because it’s also a true story. Every single part of the song is true, from the four-plank to the house on the hill. It’s all real.
“I’m looking forward to getting back into touring when it’s safe to do so and playing this song for my amazing fans,” Janson adds. “A big congratulations also to my co-writers on achieving their first No. 1 song.”
“Done” is the sophomore single from Janson’s 2019 album Real Friends, after lead release “Good Vibes” became his first Country Airplay No. 1 last October. Janson, who joined the Grand Ole Opry in 2018, first charted in 2010 and scored his first of five top 10s with “Buy Me a Boat,” which reached No. 3 in September 2015.
‘AGAIN’ IN TOP 10 Kane Brown achieves his sixth Country Airplay top 10 as “Cool Again,” rises 12-10 (20 million, up 10%). His previous five proper singles all hit No. 1. His previous five proper singles all hit No. 1.
