CLBRKS drops new release ‘Cream Soda’ from his EP ‘Out For Lunch’. This track provides solid evidence for why the alternative UK rap scene is home to some of the strongest talents the nation has to offer. Style and unorthodox delivery is something that CLBRKS has been blessed with – hopping onto this hazy lo-fi production, from DraeDaSkimask, with ease.
The beat leaves a lot to the imagination in the first few bars, creating a sense of curiosity to how the lyrical approach is going to go down, then once that immediate thought chills out, all you hear is “CREAM SODA” and you’re in, firmly fastened and engaged. It’s one of those songs where you can either switch on or switch off too – meaning there’s really clever wordplay and punchlines, but it doesn’t bombard you to the point where you can’t relax. He most certainly made me check myself as I was expecting a whole different delivery on ‘Cream Soda’ – but it’s 2020, nothing is predictable.
