What is your name and what city do you rep? 

My name is Maika but every body calls me Zu the great i live in south central los angeles ca

Tell us about your latest releases, what inspired you to create them? 

My new release call West Cola was inspired by my good friend Ol Dirty Bastard from the wutang he use to joke around on his songs yelling off beat crazy wild shit so when he died in honor of my homie i return the flavor on the beginning on my song to set the tone for the new audience who might never heard of him

 What is unique about you and your music? 

So doing this HipHop i went outta my way to not sound like any other artist or take any new trends i delivery went outta my way to create my own lane and style refuse to do the beats or sound came up with my own unique style even the name Onplanetzuis mind set of creative

What shaped your music? 

What shape my music was guys i was draw to over bubble charismatic personally like Prince, George Clinton Chuck D,Busta Rhymes,KrsOne, Missy,  Grace Jones set the tone for me to go against the grain and dare to be different push the creative boundaries

When did you realize you were going to make music professionally? 

I realized i was going to do this professionally when i saw Vanilla ice doing ice ice baby i said to my self wft going on i knew i was way better than that kinda talent but then i saw three dudes who reallly gave me the conviction when i saw Dela Soul me my self & i video i said that’s it i want to do this for a living and just start writing al kinda styles up

What type of music do you listen to? 

I listen to Drum&bass, Rock, Heavy Metal, Reggae, Old school r&b, Edm, Blues

What inspires you to write music?

That’s a hard one cause naturally i was born with the dna of creativity vibes of inspiration i hear tunes in my head on a regular, second my be a situation that happen that stays on my consciousness, 3rd might be some thing personal that i need to express 4th it could be world crisis, so to answer your question it’s  comes from any where

What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about?  

When i am not doing music i do a couple things i am always working on personal growth my better version of my self reading books on how can i use my god given powers to be the best god self learning who am i and the reason for being hear out side of that i play basketball and work out i go to park and just sit and get grounded

Nothingness’ when you sit and empty the mind not having nothing and breathe Awareness for moment to moment

What do you wish you were told when you first started making music that you think would help artists just starting out? 

I wish some body would told me to expect 1 million no’s from people and rejections and dont expect to be rich off what you love to do in one day, second dont beat your self up cause no one see your vision of who you think you are also expect lot frustrating  to new artist this is a good thing this how the universe  taste your self growth of hardship Faith, Doubt, Broke,Loneliness, to be the best artist you can be cause you as a artist we live this shit its not a hobble its a way of life how we become great writers

Tell us about your upcoming projects.. 

Now we get to the goods my new project is call When i become famous as wat feature my good friend son Ol Dirty Bastard son Young Dirty Bastard from Wutang after Obd died i stay in touch with the family and had to get the son on the track Check for another bangger call Brooklyn Zu on the album first single off the album call West Cola you know i had put brooklyn on the map and Los Angeles back nothing but bars and dope beats we keeping it nothing but hiphop not that flipflop single comes out June 23, 2023 could not leave yall with out a classic Onplanetzu video to

Of course i do even if you not a artist us as black people the world is looking at us coping us, stealing every thing we do they love us and hate us at the same time  they want take our culture but dont want live is our shoes so what ever you do represent our culture to the fullest make us proud we are the best people on the planet live it
