Foolio Murder Trial Begins With Yungeen Ace Song and Interrogation Footage

The trial for the four men accused of murdering Jacksonville rapper Foolio has officially begun, with prosecutors introducing music and interrogation footage as key evidence.

The legal proceedings surrounding the murder of Jacksonville rapper Foolio have officially commenced. On Wednesday, April 22, 2026, opening arguments were presented in the trial of four men charged in connection with the artist’s death, which occurred in June 2024.

The prosecution has identified the defendants as Isaiah Chance, Sean Gathright, Rashad Murphy, and Davion Murphy. According to state attorneys, the murder was a calculated act stemming from a long-standing gang conflict between Foolio’s 6 Block collective and the rival groups known as Top Killers and 1200, with whom the defendants are allegedly affiliated. To establish the motive and the intensity of the ongoing feud, the prosecution played Yungeen Ace‘s track “Game Over” for the jury, framing the song as evidence of the deep-seated animosity between the parties.

In addition to the musical evidence, the prosecution presented compelling video footage from the interrogation of Davion Murphy. The clip, recorded following his arrest, allegedly captures the defendant mimicking the act of firing a weapon multiple times after being left alone in the interview room.

The charges against the defendants are severe. Gathright, Rashad Murphy, and Davion Murphy are accused of carrying out the fatal shooting outside of a Holiday Inn in Tampa, Fla. Meanwhile, prosecutors allege that Isaiah Chance served as a coordinator, tracking the rapper’s movements to provide his location to the shooters.

This trial follows the conviction of Alicia Andrews, the fifth individual charged in the case, who was found guilty of manslaughter last November. Her sentencing was delayed after a successful defense motion led to the removal of the presiding judge due to claims of bias.

The trial is expected to continue as the prosecution builds its case against the remaining defendants.
