Halle Berry is speaking out after calling Cardi B the “queen of hip-hop.â€
The Oscar-winning actress faced backlash from Nicki Minaj fans after she made the declaration during a screening for her new film Bruised.

During her appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!†on Monday night, Halle addressed the controversy and doubled down on her original statement.
“You know, I do,†she said when Kimmel asked if she stands behind her comment. “But here’s the thing, there’s room for more than one queen, people. Nicki is a queen in her own right. H.E.R. is a queen. All these ladies to me are queens. There can always be more than one.â€
Halle and Cardi co-executive produced the Bruised soundtrack, which features an all-female lineup including H.E.R, City Girls, Saweetie, Latto, Erica Banks, Flo Milli, Baby Tate, Young M.A., Rapsody, and Cardi herself.
The soundtrack arrives Friday, while the film opens in select theaters Nov. 17 and hits Netflix on Nov. 24.
