Japanese Rock Icon Kiyoshiro Imawano's Official YouTube Channel Launches

After years of having to slog through a sea of unofficial videos of varying quality floating around online, fans of Japanese rock legend Kiyoshiro Imawano can now head to his first official YouTube channel to stream a curated selection of his iconic performances and music videos.

Imawano kicked off his prolific career as the frontman of the pioneering rock band RC Succession in 1970. He blazed the trail of Japanese rock music, forming numerous other bands and groups along the way, until his death from cancer in 2009 at the age of 58.

The year 2020 marks the 50th anniversary of his debut, and his official YouTube will continue to add videos featuring Imawano’s solo works and songs by his bands 2・3’S (“Niisans”), Little Screaming Revue, Ruffy Tuffy, LOVE JETS, and perhaps his most famous non-RC Succession project of all time, THE TIMERS, known for its exceptional Japanese cover of The Monkees’ “Daydream Believer.”
