Jeezy and Jeannie Mai Welcome Baby

Baby Jenkins is here!

Jeezy and Jeannie Mai have welcomed their first child together. Taking to Instagram on Tuesday (Jan. 11), “The Real” co-host announced the arrival of their bundle of joy.

“I asked God for a life of love and happiness. He sent me my family,” the new mom captioned a photo from the delivery room. “Baby Jenkins is here.”

Mai did not reveal the baby’s gender, but she previously said she would not be learning the sex of her child before birth.

“That makes things more exciting rather than defining the baby with pink skirts or blue corduroy shorts,” she told WWD. “I’m getting everything because I want the baby to have options. It’s very awakening to see how much you put your baby into very specific stereotypes, based on whether or not you know it’s a boy or a girl.”

In September, Mai announced that she and her husband were expecting their first child together. After suffering a miscarriage a month before their March 2021 wedding, the couple ultimately opted for in-vitro fertilization.

“It was not easy,” Mai told Women’s Health of the process to conceive. “We both needed a bit of assistance, especially with me being 41 at the time.”

A week after their wedding, Mai discovered she was pregnant again. “It was the most beautiful sign that anything’s possible, that you’re not in control, and God has a plan,” she said.

This is the first child for Mai and the fourth for Jeezy, who has three children from previous relationships—Jadarius, Shyheim, and Amra.
