Young Dolph Murder Suspects Arrested

Two men have been arrested in the murder of Young Dolph.

Justin Johnson was taken into custody on Tuesday (Jan. 11) after a manhunt. The 23-year-old was captured by U.S. Marshals Officers in Indiana and faces charges including first-degree murder, reports FOX13 Memphis.

The second suspected gunman, 32-year-old Cornelius Smith, was also arrested and booked into Shelby County Jail and charged with first-degree murder for the Memphis rapper’s death on Nov. 17.

Last week, police announced that Johnson was wanted in connection to Dolph’s murder and were offering a $15,000 reward for information leading to his arrest. Johnson, a rapper who goes by the name Straight Drop, went on social media to announce plans to turn himself in on Monday, but he never did.

Johnson, who is on the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Most Wanted list, reportedly has ties to organized crime. In 2017, he was arrested for a triple shooting at a Memphis bowling alley.

He appears to have filmed a music video at the same home where cops recovered a white Mercedes, which they believe is the getaway car used in Dolph’s murder.

The arrests come nearly two months after Dolph was shot and killed while at a Memphis bakery. He was 36.
