Joss Favela joins forces with Greeicy for a new, pop version of his 2019 song “La Magia de Tus Ojos,” which premieres exclusively below on Billboard.
It’s the first time the regional Mexican singer-songwriter and Greeicy, Colombian up-and-coming artist, team up for a collaboration.
“Since the beginning, she really liked this song and well I’ve always wanted to work with her,” Favela tells Billboard.
The dreamy collaboration between the two crooners gives fans a re-imagined version of the ultra romantic lyrics penned by Favela. Included in his Grammy-nominated album Caminando, sing about a man who falls in love just by looking at his crush’s eyes and imagines what it would be like to kiss her.
The music video for this version was filmed in Colombia and directed by Valentín Jiménez. “It was the first time I recorded a music video outside of the U.S. and Mexico because as a regional Mexican artist, we typically stay in these territories so it’s the first time we go to another country, this time in Colombia,” adds Favela.
“It’s been one of the most difficult videos I’ve had to shoot, it was a bit challenging for me. We recorded in a theater and it was recorded as if we were in a play. Everything was perfectly coordinated. But we enjoyed the whole process,” Favela says.
