Kanye West is coming back to Coachella.
Over a decade since he headlined the festival, the rap superstar will reportedly return to the Empire Polo Ground in Indio, Calif. as one of three headliners, sources tell Variety.
Billie Eilish is also slated to headline the 2022 festival on Saturday, while Ye will close out the three-day fest on Sunday night. Swedish House Mafia is also on the bill, but it’s unclear whether the group is the third headliner. An official announcement with the full lineup is expected in the coming days.
West last headlined Coachella in 2011 following the release of his 2010 album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. In 2019, he and his Sunday Service Choir performed a special set on Easter Sunday.
Travis Scott has reportedly been removed from the 2022 bill in the wake of the Astroworld tragedy. He was one of three original headliners for 21st installment of the festival, along with Frank Ocean and Rage Against the Machine. Ocean will now headline the 2023 edition, it was previously announced.
Coachella has been postponed four times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The sold-out festival is currently scheduled to take place over the weekends of April 15-17 and April 22-24, 2022.
Kanye’s Coachella performance would mark his first festival appearance since the release of DONDA in August. Last month, he reunited with Drake during the “Free Larry Hoover” benefit concert in Los Angeles.
