South London creative Lobby Boy brings an unorthodox mix of heavy 808’s and elegant keys on his latest single ‘TOP’. Coming as his second release of the year, the all-encompassing artist and creative provides us with a look at yet another side of his musicality. With production from Jacq Charles, the track brings a variety of textures and details, with Lobby Boy’s flow escalating it to the next level.
Holding a nineties Hip-hop feel with its distorted vocal samples hidden behind the percussion, this release brings out the best of the artists effortless melodic ability and poised delivery. After the release of his 2019 EP ‘TRY’ whereby he brought together, in perfect cohesion, heavy drums and light and intricate production, this track continues the evolution of that sound. Growing within his distinctive style, his 2020 debut ‘Reap What You Sow’ remained playful within its production and experimental at its core. With this latest drop, it’s clear to see Lobby Boy’s sound will only continue to grow further into its authenticity.
