unnamed-12 Peewee Longway to Release Project Ft. Lil Baby, Lil Yachty & More

After laying low in 2020, Peewee Longway is giving us a taste of what’s to come in 2021. Last Friday, he announced his upcoming project, Longway Sinatra 2, due on January 22, along with his video “Anxious.” The sequel to his beloved mixtape Longway Sinatra from five years ago, Longway Sinatra 2 rekindles the chemistry between Peewee and Cassius Jay and features appearances from Lil BabyLil YachtyBlac YoungstaTee GrizzleyHoodrich Pablo JuanJazze Pha, and more

As 2020 winds down, Peewee Longway is giving us a taste of what’s to come in 2021. Later today, ATL’s one-of-a-kind trap original is dropping his newest video, “Anxious” along with the announcement of his upcoming project, Longway Sinatra 2, due on January 22. The sequel to his beloved mixtape Longway Sinatra from five years ago, Longway Sinatra 2 rekindles the chemistry between Peewee and Cassius Jay (name a better trap duo (or at least one that wasn’t influenced by Master Peewee)– I’ll wait) and demonstrates what I like to call the “Rap Game Kevin Bacon.

“Anxious,” an uptempo Cassius Jay-produced track, combines that familiar ATL trap sound with a Mannie Fresh-esque bounce. In the video, Peewee twirls a tapestry of disrespectful flexes and drawly rhymes as he struts his stuff in an abandoned warehouse, flashing his cash and his toothy grin as he energetically recites the lyrics to this relentless head-nodder.

Spanning 17 tracks, Longway Sinatra 2 reaffirms Peewee’s status as one of the trap music’s OGs. Featuring appearances from Lil BabyLil YachtyBlac YoungstaTee GrizzleyHoodrich Pablo JuanJazze Pha, and more, the project flashes the nimble verbosity and witty lyricism that endears the rapper to his fans and earns the recognition of compadres like Gucci Mane and Young Thug.

Peewee Longway has been laying low in 2020, plotting his next move towards the top of the rap game. In Late 2019, Peewee connected with fellow ATL rapper Money Man for Long Money, a full-length collaborative project. Dominated by textured, rippling production by Cassius Jay, the project finds the two artists finding common ground, waxing poetic with melodic plug talk and celebrating their triumphs over adversity. Last year, Peewee also shared The Blue M&M 4, an extension of his long-running mixtape series, which featured appearances from Quavo and Key Glock. Stay tuned for much more from Master Peewee in the coming weeks.
