Brooklyn Drill rapper Nick Blixky, real name Nicklaus Thompson, has been pronounced dead at the age of 21.
Rapper Nick Blixky, real name Nickalus Thompson has passed away at the age of 21. His body was found on Winthrop near Prospect Lefferts Gardens in New York City after police received a report that a man had been shot. The initial police statement was shared by Metro News, indicating that the young rapper was unconscious when found.
“Upon arrival, officers found an unconscious and unresponsive 21-year-old male, with gunshot wounds to his torso and buttocks,” it reads. “EMS also responded to the scene and transported the individual to NYC Health & Hospitals/Kings County, where he was pronounced deceased.” As of this latest update, police have yet to make any arrests in relation to the fatal shooting.
Though some rumors seemed to suggest that Blixky was fatally shot by NYPD officers, one of his close associates Nasir Fisher took to Twitter to dispel the rumor. “Police didn’t kill my brother ya n*** shut up let him Rest In Peace on GOD,” he wrote.
In the hours leading up to his death, Blixky took to Instagram to promote his upcoming mixtape Different Timin — it was to be his first release. As news of his death spread, many of his fans were quick to flood his page with emotional messages and condolences. Many came to discover the rising Drill voice through his viral single “Drive The Boat,” which amassed over two million views on YouTube. Rest in peace Nick Blixky.
