Michael Jordan’s “The Last Dance” has a production schedule that could get a documentary of its own.
of entertainment that has gotten us through the COVID-19-imposed quarantine. Sports fans needed something in their lives and this docuseries has been the true missing piece in all of our lives. Having said that, fans are excited to watch episodes 5 and 6, this upcoming Sunday.
According to Arash Markazi of the Los Angeles Times, the production schedule for “The Last Dance” has been grueling, to say the least. Essentially, the doc was supposed to premiere on June 2nd before Game 1 of the NBA Finals. However, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, ESPN decided to ramp up production so they could be good to go as of April 19th. In fact, episode 9 of the series was only finished yesterday.
What makes this even more insane is the fact that the final interview with John Stockton was only filmed on March 10th. Not to mention, editors have been completing the documentary from their apartments and have even been uploading clips to Vimeo, while commuting Zoom.
Needless to say, “The Last Dance” has been subjected to a massive time crunch that could someday be the subject of a documentary of its own.
