Young Thug and Gunna Post Bail for 30 Inmates

Young Thug and Gunna are reuniting families.

The “Ski” rappers shared an act of kindness by posting bonds for 30 inmates at Fulton County Jail in their hometown of Atlanta over the weekend. Most of the men and women were being held on low-level offenses but couldn’t get out because they couldn’t afford the bail money.

“This is where we are from,” Thug told WSB-TV. “We just woke up and went to the jail with the lawyer and you know DAs and all the prosecutors, you know, the bonding companies and just got as many people as we can out.”

In video footage, dozens of inmates were seen leaving the jail before reuniting with their loved ones. “It feels so good where you start feeling like, ‘Oh damn, this why God put me here. He put me here to do this,’” added Thug.

They didn’t say how much money they spent on the bonds, but they plan to do it again. The newly-released inmates will also be featured in the music video for Thug and Gunna’s “Paid the Fine” with Lil Baby.

“You never know what somebody been through. There was people sitting out three or four years and couldn’t get out on a bond,” said Gunna.

Thug and Gunna have another reason to celebrate as their Young Stoner Life compilation Slime Language 2 debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 113,000 equivalent album units. On Friday, they released a deluxe edition with eight additional tracks.
