In celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Ocean Race, Ulysse Nardin has revealed a dedicated limited-edition chronograph ahead of this year’s Newport In-Port Race, aptly named the Ocean Race Diver Chronograph. As the official timekeeper for the race, the watch also serves as a tribute to both parties’ adventurous spirits, shared love for the sea, and commitment to safeguarding it.

Attired in a 44mm, sandblasted, and satin-finished black DLC titanium case, where the chronograph’s unidirectional rotating bezel is incorporated. The bezel features a Carbonium® finish, which contains upcycled fibers from airplane fuselage offcuts for reduced environmental impact.

Electric blue, white and black makes up the color scheme of this timepiece for a cool and sporty mood. Gracing the sandblasted black dial are rhodium-plated indices and hands, all filled with Super-LumiNova, complete with sub-counters at the 3, 6, and 9 o’clock marks. Its in-house UN-150 self-winding chronograph calibre can be observed via its open caseback, providing the piece with 300 meters of water resistance. On top of that, an “50” logo imprint can also be found on the sapphire caseback and the ceramic component of its rubber strap.

Speaking on the launch, Patrick Pruniaux, the CEO of Ulysse Nardin says “The new Diver celebrates this legendary sailing race, its commitment to protecting the ocean environment, and the research and marine conservation projects that Ulysse Nardin is proud to support.”

Priced at $15,700 USD, the Ocean Race Diver Chronograph is released as a 100-piece limited-edition later today. Keep an eye out on Ulysse Nardin’s social media and official website for more details.
