Lil Wayne once more voiced his displeasure at being left out of the Super Bowl LIX halftime performance in his native New Orleans last night.
During the Lil Weezyana Fest on Saturday which he was headlining, he told the crowd that he had dreamed of doing the Super Bowl halftime show and that this year “it was ripped away from me.” Watch the clip below.
“The Super Bowl] was ripped away from me, but this motherf***ing moment right here? They can’t take that.”

In September, the NFL announced that Kendrick Lamar had been chosen as the headliner for Super Bowl LIX halftime. The decision was made months after Lamar and Drake’s long-running conflict hit a breaking point and led to an exchange of multiple disses. Wayne had earlier expressed that he was “hurt” by the NFL and Roc Nation’s decision.
“I thought there was nothing better than that spot, that stage, that platform, in my city. So it hurt, it hurt a whole lot… It broke me,” he said.
