Pharrell Williams has been at the center of a new controversy after Vans insinuated plagiarism on his part, shortly after the musical maestro unveiled his latest skate-inspired Louis Vuitton collection. However, amidst the industry noise, the creative force has continued to push forward, delivering a fresh wave of music to accompany his latest fashion venture.
At the most recent Louis Vuitton SS27 Fashion Show, Pharrell premiered new musical collaborations with some of modern hip-hop’s most prominent artists: Lil Baby, Quavo, and NBA YoungBoy. The tracks served as the sonic backdrop for the runway, playing as models navigated a sand-covered set featuring an artificial waterfall structure.
Among the new material, the collaboration with NBA YoungBoy stood out for its high-energy delivery, while the track “Haavin” featuring Quavo provided a notably catchy rhythm. The collaboration with Lil Baby aligned perfectly with the luxury aesthetic of the show, with the rapper delivering verses centered on high-end fashion and success, even shouting out the producer by noting, “this beat came from Pharrell.”
