Drake Celebrates Early 40th Birthday in Toronto and New York

Drake kicked off his 40th birthday celebrations with an exclusive gathering in Toronto before heading to New York City.

Drake got festivities started early this year for his 40th birthday, celebrating at both a Toronto landmark and an NYC hot spot before the big day. The superstar is officially set to turn 40 on Saturday, Oct. 24, but the Drake 40th birthday celebrations began well in advance.

On Wednesday, Oct. 21, the Toronto native kicked things off with a private gathering at the city’s iconic CN Tower. The event included a select group of his closest friends, as well as OVO signee Popcaan. During the intimate celebration, Drake was surprised with a heartfelt collage of memories curated by his friends to commemorate the milestone.

Following the Toronto festivities, Drake, accompanied by his mother and a large entourage, boarded his customized $185 million private jet, affectionately known as “Air Drake.” The group traveled to New York City, where the rapper was spotted on Thursday, Oct. 22, enjoying a dinner with friends at the popular Italian restaurant Mamo.

As he approaches this significant birthday, the momentum surrounding his career remains high. There is widespread speculation that he is currently in discussions to headline the 2027 Coachella Music & Arts Festival in Indio, Calif. According to reports from Hits Daily Double, the artist is being considered for the slot, which would mark his first time headlining the festival since 2015.

Beyond the potential festival appearance, the artist has promised a 2027 tour to support his recent trifecta of albums—Iceman, Maid of Honour, and Habibti—all of which were released this past May. With a new decade of life ahead, it appears the Toronto superstar is poised for another massive chapter in his career.
