AdELA – “My Green”

My-Green-Adela AdELA - “My Green”

Welcome to Women’s History Month brought to you by the ladies of music this year. Certified Gold Songwriter AdELA taps producer Ms Madli and artist Alondra Rich for an all female led single titled “My Green

The trendy single was curated in pre-pandemic New York at the renowned IMI Studios. Written a year ago, at an all-female songwriting camp, “My Green,” comes as an inspiring female anthem with furious energy. It unapologetically opposes complacency and inspires women to get to the bag.

In the music industry, women are often overlooked when it comes to the business side of things,” says the rapper “In addition, despite a highly competitive environment we are always expected to remain co-operative and pleasant. This track serves as a reminder that we mean business, our time is money, and we are coming for the bag.”

AdELA’s laid-back vocals and bossy lyrics paired with Alonda’s velvety adlibs are laid over a trap-hop instrumental. Producer Ms Madli, was instantly attracted to the sound and realized it would be suitable for AdELA. Fast forward to March of 2021 and the ladies are here with all of their green!

The Visual

In her all-new “My Green” visual, AdELA establishes herself as a boss. AdELA’s DIY sensibilities are on display as she styled, shot and directed the music video herself.

In the video, AdELA confidently raps to the camera while steadily flexing her “green” and inspiring other women to do the same. AdELA appears in four different outfits throughout the video, each highlighting her “green.” The first look we see is a gold metallic dress with a fur coat.

The second look is a Louis Vuitton outfit, which she wears while rapping “The only way I like my green is in my purse,” highlighting her drive and direct focus. AdELA also references Gucci as she raps, “Gucci hoodie with the logo” in front of a Gucci backdrop, which tells us some of what she spends her “green” on.

The final two looks are all-black ensembles with gold accents, Gucci, and gold chains. Demonstrating a different side of AdELA, while still conveying the same message of getting to the bag and being proud of it.

AdELA is no stranger to the rap game, having released three EPs with heavy hitters like Fat Joe, Royce Da5’9, and others. Her contributions to Meek Mill’s “Wins and Losses” album earned her one of her greatest accolades. AdELA earned her first RIAA Certified Gold credit as a co-writer and performer on Meek Mill’s “Made it From Nothing.”

AdELA is a triple-threat. She’s a singer, songwriter, and rapper who’s enjoying the fruits of her efforts to achieve stardom. The tenacious South African-born, Atlanta-based beauty inherited her determination to live the life she desired from her parents. After her family left lucrative jobs in South Africa in the 1990s to flee apartheid.

AdELA’s family moved to Miami when she was young, introducing her to a wide range of musical styles, including Miami Bass, Nas, Tupac, Royce Da5’9, and Frank Sinatra. All of whom she describes as “timeless and an inspiration for her own imagination.”

AdELA is a multi-talented creative with a very promising career in this industry. Her vibe and vocals are like a breath of fresh air. The soaring songstress is just getting started so be sure to not miss out on music’s next biggest star.
