New details surrounding the recent Chuckyy arrest have surfaced, shedding light on a dramatic encounter between the Chicago rapper and local law enforcement. According to a proffer letter obtained from the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, the incident occurred on Monday, June 22, and involved a coordinated police response that ultimately led to the rapper being taken into custody.
The situation reportedly began when the Strategic Deployment Support Center (SDSC)—a specialized unit utilizing live data and video surveillance—identified an individual, identified as Chuckyy, allegedly brandishing a firearm. Authorities observed the rapper concealing the weapon inside a black BMW. Upon arriving at the scene, officers encountered the artist in the rear passenger seat of the vehicle. When commanded to exit, the rapper refused to comply with police orders.
To secure the scene and address the potential threat, officers utilized a window punch tool to break the vehicle’s glass, allowing them to safely extract the rapper. Following the arrest, a search of the BMW revealed a Glock 26 9mm semiautomatic pistol equipped with a laser sight, which contained a live round. Furthermore, investigators seized a blue zippered pouch containing $60,000 in cash.
Subsequent checks confirmed that the 20-year-old artist, born Charles Edward Davis, does not possess a valid Firearm Owner’s Identification (FOID) card or a Concealed Carry License (CCL) required for legal firearm possession in Illinois. While specific charges have not been publicly disclosed, the rapper is currently being held at the Cook County jail without bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for June 29.
Representatives for the artist have been contacted for comment as the legal process continues to unfold.
