Following the highly-anticipated release of the yin-yang philosophy-inspired “Black/White” colorway, we now have a first look at the CLOT x Nike “CLOTEZ” in “Black/Varsity Maize.” Coming courtesy of WhoJungWoo, the early imagery of the upcoming release reveals the take believed to be inspired by the iconic jumpsuit worn by Bruce Lee in 1979’s Game of Death.

Appearing in the incomplete Hong Kong martial arts film filmed before the Jeet Kune Do founder’s death, the bold yellow and black jumpsuit has become a major part of pop culture, with an array of tributes, most famously sported by Uma Thurman‘s The Bride character in Quentin Tarantino‘s Kill Bill (2003).

Expressing a mix of “Black/Varsity Maize,” the upcoming release, expected to be the second of three colorways, sees the 3-in-1 Nike Cortez design by CLOT Founder and Creative Director Edison Chen with aspiring designer Harry Wong dressed for hi-vis contrast. The indoor house shoe interior features premium yellow leather uppers, contrasting black Swooshes, and nylon tongues. Additional detailing comes in the form of tongue tags, and Chinese characters “功” and “夫” (kung Fu) embroidered at the heels. While the accompanying traditional kung fu slip-on comes in matte black, yellow Swooshes, serrated outsoles, and drawstring fastenings with the yin-yang symbol.

The shoe is also expected to come complete with matching detachable insoles and special packaging marking the collaboration and colorway.

Priced at $140 USD, take a first look at the CLOT x Nike “CLOTEZ” in “Black/Varsity Maize” above and stay tuned for release info.
