Homme+Femme Looks to Hip-Hop With SS23 “Living Legacy” Collection

Emerging Los Angeles streetwear label Homme+Femme looked to the city’s rich hip-hop culture to inspire its latest line. Entitled “Living Legacy,” designer Drew Evans, a Compton native, drew on the brand’s own trajectory for an especially momentous collection celebrating Homme+Femme’s 10th anniversary.

This line centers on t-shirts, hoodies, button-ups and vests. With the latest vests, an article of clothing Homme+Femme has perfected in the past, Evans offers the cropped puffer vest in pink, beige and black colorways. Embroidered with the brand’s logo, each vest consists of wavy fabric panels and closes with three snap buttons.

Button-ups feature an eclectic print of keys, locks, hearts and roses, drawing from L.A.-specific symbolism, while graphic tees are simpler, showing with bright screen printed graphics.

The real standouts of the collection are two hoodies paying homage to the Godfather of Gangsta Rap, Eazy E. A black hoodie is emblazoned with a blurry black-and-white photo of the rapper, while a beige version shows photos of him clipped from a newspaper alongside a snippet of an article written about him.
