J. Cole and Cam’ron Reach Legal Settlement Over ‘Ready ’24’ Lawsuit

J. Cole and Cam'ron have officially resolved their legal dispute regarding the track 'Ready '24' from the mixtape 'Might Delete Later'.

A notable chapter in this year’s hip-hop landscape has come to a close. Following an awkward public dispute that captured industry attention, Cam’ron and J. Cole have officially reached a legal settlement regarding the song ‘Ready ’24,’ which appeared on J. Cole’s mixtape Might Delete Later.

The conflict originated earlier this year when Cam’ron initiated legal action against the Dreamville founder. The Harlem legend alleged that despite his vocals being featured on the track, he was only provided with a co-writing credit. Furthermore, Cam’ron claimed he had not received appropriate financial compensation or royalties for his contributions, noting that he had been offered a podcast appearance or a reciprocal verse as a substitute—agreements he stated were never fulfilled.

Tensions began to thaw earlier this year when J. Cole made a surprise appearance on Cam’ron’s podcast. The two artists leaned into the narrative, even participating in a comedic skit that addressed the absurdity of the situation, effectively signaling a shift toward reconciliation.

On May 26, the legal matter was formally put to rest. Attorneys representing both parties confirmed that an “agreement in principle” has been reached to resolve the dispute. While the specific terms of the settlement remain confidential, both sides are currently in the process of finalizing the necessary documentation. With the legal hurdles cleared, the two artists appear to have successfully moved past the friction, putting an end to one of the more unusual industry disputes of the year.
