Lil Wayne reportedly is ready to settle down. According to a TMZ report published on Tuesday (May 26), the legendary rapper allegedly popped the question earlier this year to a woman in her 20s from Indiana. XXL has reached out to the artist’s representatives for comment regarding the engagement.
Known for keeping his personal life largely out of the public eye, the New Orleans native has maintained a relatively low profile regarding his romantic relationships. His last high-profile split occurred on Mother’s Day in 2025, when he parted ways with his on-and-off girlfriend, Denise Bidot. Prior to that, he was engaged to Australian model La’Tecia Thomas, a relationship that concluded in 2020.
The rapper’s history of high-profile romances includes an engagement to R&B singer Nivea, with whom he shares a son. He is also a father to a son with Lauren London, the longtime partner of the late Nipsey Hussle, and previously dated Trina. Despite his extensive dating history, Lil Wayne has only been married once, having wed Toya Johnson in 2004 before their divorce in 2006.
Looking Ahead to Tha Carter VII
While news of his engagement captures headlines, Lil Wayne remains focused on his prolific musical output. During a recent interview with Wake Up Barstool, the Young Money leader teased the highly anticipated arrival of Tha Carter VII.
“Tha Carter VII is coming soon,” Weezy confirmed. “I’m not sure if we are going to just name my next album Tha Carter VII, but I have albums coming as well.”
He elaborated on his creative process, noting, “I make so many types of music and so many genres. Whenever we have different subjects, as long as I have a song about everything.” Fans are eagerly awaiting the project, hoping for a release sooner rather than later.
