Kanye is back to being all the rage on the internet, as he often does. After a brief period of hibernation, the rapper-producer has grabbed eyeballs again — from his barrage of questionable tweets, to him showing up at The Grammys with wife Bianca Censori in a full nude outfit.
While this may seem like regular Kanye, it seems to also be a Kanye way of pulling off an album rollout.

Sure enough, Kanye recently revealed the release date for his much anticipated upcoming album, Bully. Post his appearance at the Grammys, Kanye debuted the interview with Justin Laboy where he revealed June 15 as the official release date for Bully. The date is also special to Ye owing to it being his daughter North West’s birthday.

According to Ye, it is North’s favorite album thus far, so it is only right for it to be released then. While this is a sweet gesture, many fans were quick to doubt Ye’s intentions for the intended release date, considering how Ye has a reputation for delaying releases.

Ye also previewed music from the album, and revealed the usage of AI in the forthcoming project. Clearly, he is aware of what the impact of this move would be on other producers in the industry. By normalising the usage of AI in music, Kanye is opening the floodgates to possibility — one that allows human creativity to work in tandem with artificial intelligence.

This makes the project even more exciting to think about, aside from the fact that Kanye may be rapping in Spanish on some tracks, and have features from his daughter. In the conversation with Laboy, Ye also shared his views on the Kendrick-Drake beef and its outcome, accepting that “Kendrick killed Drake.” That said, he was quick to give Drake props for his influence on music and the ecosystem it exists in.
