Katy Perry to Kick Off 'GMA' Virtual Summer Concert Series

Katy Perry is coming to Good Morning America! On Monday (May 18), the pop star announced that she will serve as the first headliner of the morning show’s upcoming summer concert series.

“That’s right, I’m going to start it off with my brand new song ‘Daisies,'” Perry said in a special video message for GMA viewers. “It’ll be a very exciting event. Please don’t miss it. I will see you there. Love you, GMA.”

Set for Friday (May 22), the virtual performance will take place just days after Perry debuted her latest single on the season finale of American Idol Sunday (May 17), where Just Sam was crowned the long-running singing competition’s eighteenth champion. The inspirational anthem serves as the lead single off the pregnant superstar’s upcoming, as-yet-untitled fifth studio album, which is scheduled to be released Aug. 14 Capitol Records.

A complete lineup of Good Morning America‘s summer 2020 concert series is expected to be announced soon. Watch Perry’s special announcement below.
