Rimzee shares the third mixtape of his career, Cold Feet, a renewed reminder of the virtue that comes with his status in UK rap.
The Clapton rapper asserts his authority on the 18-track Cold Feet, succeeding the 2020 mixtape, Upper Clapton Dream 2. It’s a project teased since late 2021, coming packed with standout singles “Expensive Pain†featuring Born Trappy, “Entrepreneur†and “Unrulyâ€, with the latter two as contenders for the best UK rap song of the year.
Cold Feet comes loaded with an array of guest appearances, including K-Trap, Giggs, D-Block Europe, Emeli Sandé, Tiggs Da Author, Maverick Sabre, and more. It results in collaborations such as “Jugginâ€, a reflective cut assisted by Giggs and Tiggs Da Author, and the classy “Tables Turn†with Emelie Sandé. It’s a testament to how much Rimzee’s levelled up his songwriting game, offering memorable hooks and structures across the entirety of the project. He even demonstrates his ability to hold his own hooks, nailing performances on solo tracks “Morals & Principles†and “Soul to da Streetsâ€. The evolution goes hand in hand with Rimzee’s observations of how far he’s come.
Performances come equipped with sticky trap production that works so well with Rimzee’s signature flows (NECHO, Bigzy, Slay Products, JB, Fumes Beats). The foot comes off the pedal for the poignant “Life on the Endzâ€, a downtempo tune finding Rimzee and Snap Capone reflecting on their days of incarceration that stems from being a product of their environment. It’s another highlight and a necessary entry in making Cold Feet a project with range.
Cold Feet ensures it will stand tall as one of the strongest UK releases of the year, regulating Rimzee’s brief but iconic discography.
