Marvel star Mark Ruffalo appears to be expanding his horizons, looking to star in a new HBO drama.

The project is currently untitled but is from the creator of Mare of Easttown, Brad Ingelsby. The premium cable outlet has ordered a limited series on the new drama, which is set to be about a law enforcement task force and the criminals that they apprehend. Ruffalo is slated to also be an executive producer on the show. The new show will mark a return for Ruffalo and Ingelsby at HBO. In 2020, Ruffalo won an Emmy for his role on the limited series I Know This Much Is True. Mare of Easttown has won four Emmys and has earned Ingelsby a nod for his writing.

The series has been in place well before the writers strike and casting decisions were also made beforehand too. While there is no definitive start date for production just yet, it is said to be in progress. Francesca Orsi, Head of HBO drama series and film said, “We are absolutely thrilled to once again join forces with Brad Ingelsby, the brilliant auteur behind Mare of Easttown. Brad’s boundless creativity and unrivaled ability to captivate audiences is nothing short of inspiring, and we cannot be more excited to embark on another journey together.”
